Frequently Asked Questions
What is CTET and who conducts it?
CTET is conducted by CBSE to certify teachers for central government schools. Paper 1 certifies for Class 1-5 and Paper 2 for Class 6-8. It is held twice a year (July and December).
How long is CTET certificate valid?
CTET certificate is now valid for a lifetime. This was changed from 7 years to lifetime validity in 2021 by the Ministry of Education.
Can I appear for both CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2?
Yes. You can appear for both papers in the same sitting. You need to register and pay fees for both. Qualifying both papers allows you to apply for teaching positions from Class 1 to Class 8.
What is the passing mark for CTET 2025?
General category: 90/150 marks (60%). SC/ST/OBC/PwD: 82/150 marks (55%). There is no negative marking in CTET.
